    Älvkalas utifrån förskolansläroplan

To find out more about International Fairy Tea Party... there are posts here Hej för alla som undrade här finns en dokument ni får tillgång till kring hur älvkalaset kopplas till den nya läroplan Detta är en levande dokument, så det kommer att ändras under tiden - med mer information, och så småningom mer kring lek och andra delar av värdegrunden (även om allt detta nu finns i jag vill vara ännu mer tydlig i framtiden. Greg and Suzanne - a dialogue of Play, Time and Magic

Suzanne: Getting the opportunity to listen to you talk at the Play on Early Childhood Conference in Athens in mid April was a magical moment for me... it was like listening to someone who spoke the same language as myself. The magic door. This border between adulthood and childhood, between reality and imagination, between chronos and aeon. It reminded me so clearly of why I started the International Fairy Tea Party in 2013 - not just a celebration of play and imagination but

    The Story of... listening

Listen with your ears, eyes, heart and mind. This is how I start a philosophy session with my preschoolers. A simple reminder that there is not one way to listen... not even with listening is there a single story. Many of the activities I did with the children was to give the children time and opportunity to practice their listening skills... to listen with their ears, to listen with their eyes, to listen with their hearts and to listen with their minds. The Story of a Ladybird

I really love all resources that allow us to see the diversity of life and nature - and so this post is sharing a poster I have come across showing a variety of ladybirds... or ladybugs as some call them. As a child I had inherited my mother's fear of insects... by observing her behaviour and mirroring it... I made the conscious decision as a mother to hide my fear of insects from my children so that they could develop their own relationship with creepy crawlies... I am ha

    The Story of Play

(på svenska efter bilderna) Six years ago I started the International Fairy Tea Party as a tool for adults to step into the world of play. I often feel that adults tend to have an intellectual or emotional relationship with play from an adult perspective reminiscing on their childhood - or discussing with others about what is play really. The idea is that the tea party is a reason to experience play and imagination again. I see some educators struggle with the idea of fa

    The Magic of Play

Yesterday I held a play workshop for the educators from Jenin, Palestine and some of the educators of Filosofiska preschools. it was an opportunity for experiences to be shared and to learn from each other... and to explore play... The day started with a dialogue... exploring what "PLAY" means to each person... and then what "MAGIC" is... (the magic part as these educators will also be participating in The International Fairy Tea Party) After this they were given the chal
